PE ratio , as an indicator i use to find out over/under- valuation effect on Price.
(here we should not mingle PE ratio study with technical charts as it has Fundamental reasons behind it's movement unlike technical moves of Prices.)
Historically ~25-28 PE is seen as extreme Overvalued price
As of now Nifty's correspond 25 PE value lies near or above 9200.
